Ocean Voices Fellows’ Week 2025 in Edinburgh brought together a global community of ocean professionals for a week of inspiring collaboration, deep learning, and shared commitment to inclusive and equitable ocean governance. Ocean Voices Fellows’ Week 2025, held in Edinburgh from 22–27 June, brought together the Programme’s community of ocean professionals from around the world. Described by Fellows as “unifying”, “empowering”, and “reinvigorating”, the week strengthened knowledge exchange, built lasting relationships, and reaffirmed shared commitment to equitable and inclusive ocean governance. The programme featured sessions on topics ranging from storytelling for impact, theory of change and implementing ocean projects. A highlight was the mock negotiation session, prepared by a Fellow, which challenged participants to navigate complex international dynamics in relation to fisheries management. Beyond technical discussions, OV Week created space to explore career development, power dynamics, and the journey of working in ocean governance. OV Week 2025 was a reminder of the strength found in community and collaboration. Through deep discussions, open reflections, and shared learning, Fellows and Alumni explored not only the technical complexities of ocean governance but also the human side; trust, resilience, and connection.
